A beautiful day last sunday in Wappingers Falls, NY was the ideal setting for quite a gathering. Albeit a bit overcast, but slowly becoming warm and sunny. Cars from far and wide accumulated in this vacant baseball stadium to enjoy the presence of one another. Now i could have photo'd all the nice show cars, but that was not my intent. I wanted to find a few of the hidden gems that really should get more of the attention they deserve. And we begin with this astounding IS300.

Kinja'd!!!

The only car that is acceptable with altezzas. The one and only atezza. I have never seen one in red, and the wheels on this car were just fantastic. A super clean, oem setup, proper car.

A feel for the venue. A nice stadium, with a good amount of room. Sadly the bigger portion of the lot was not paved, but a compacted rock base. Could be worse i suppose.

I forgot to get a picture of that blue forester on the left. Not crazy low, but decent. And its appearance was simply appealing.

.

.

Kinja'd!!!

Two lovely GTR's were present. But in my infinite wisdom, didnt get a picture. Rather i was much more interested and impressed how big its brakes were. That caliper is massive. I mean huge. Its only when youre up close and personal with Godzilla himself do you realize there is much more going on besides its 0-60 facade.

In comparison.

Kinja'd!!!

.

The supra. To which i teasered this shot a few days ago. Clean paint and clean wheels sure do make a shot pop.

.

Now im not a Volkswagen fan, but i really enjoyed seeing this.

Kinja'd!!!

Looks closely and you can see both caddys have stacks. There is something so entertaining about have two identical cars to cruise around with. Remember, were not here to hate on t he stance. Just enjoy these creations and try to find the humor in them. These vw's were great.

This guy was asking for attention from the start. However, i think he deserves it. This is a slick little rocket.

Kinja'd!!!

.

.

I liked it.

Kinja'd!!!

.

And just take a look at that valve cover. Nicely done sir.

Kinja'd!!!

.

.

There were quite a few S2000's. But none quite like this one. Something about this particular one was extra attractive.

Kinja'd!!!

I think its those tires and their extra large white writing.

.

I suppose its time to pay homage to a few toyobarus.

Lets begin by murdering one out.

Kinja'd!!!

And she is putting that spoiler to good use! I mean, i too would want to use that sexy wing as much as i could. just look at it!

Kinja'd!!!

Its sooo nice! I dont know if you can call it rice when the price was most likely not very nice.

.

This guy properly badged his up. With the expection of a missing gt86 on the back. Trunk, hood, and wheel centercaps were toyota badged. I liked it. Simple.

Kinja'd!!!

His rain deflectors are pretty sweet too. I liked his plate.

.

Same one from the teaser last night.

Kinja'd!!!

I love mirrors like that. Couple that with his wheels, and choice of color, its easy to see this guys probably pretty humorous.

.

Now lets see.

Kinja'd!!!

.

could that be what i think it is?

in a brz!?

oh yes.

As we wander from the world of the new era tuner, let reminisce in the days of yesteryear.

This was very clean. Met the owner, and he was a pretty cool fella. Glad to see he keeps it original-esque.

.

These two though they could show up without anyone noticing. Well now, i cant let that happen! These girls were gorgeous.

Kinja'd!!!

.

.

Kinja'd!!!

it was just so sexy! That front lip/splitter!

.

Kinja'd!!!

I wonder what those two were talking about....

Now back to the present. A simple, clean, Nissan.

.

Kinja'd!!!

Very good looking cars those Z's.

.

.

Besides the cars, there was a limbo competition. First time watching one of these. Silly, but entertaining. At the starting line....

Ultimately, the game of car limbo quickly turns in a game of Miata limbo. Thus confirming the age old saying. "Miata is always the answer". And the winner was this guy:

Afterwards, there was a 2 step competition. Some on oppo might not like it. I understand. However, im not gonna try and stop these guys from redlining their engines, becasue some of them sounded wicked awesome. A supercharged ep3 civic on redline sounds like no other. What i assume to be a turbo v8 camaro, was beyond nuts, the loudest, and most impressive sounding thing ive ever heard in person. And who doesnt want to watch guys nearly blow up their engines!

Anyways, it was a nice day. Lots of neat cars, and i met a few people and we chatted about cars for a while. The usual.

Feel free to comment on my photography skill. What can i improve on next time. I know for one, i gotta get my exposure down. A good number of shots were over exposed. But thats the challenge when you go full manual.

Dont mind the random periods. Im hoping it allows the photos to stay large in size.

And i urge all you oppoers, to get out, and go to a meet. Dont make excuses like "its just gonna be a honda banger event". Yes there are almost always hondas. But its more than that. You might be surprised how many people appreciate your car. And there is always something to learn, even from the stance guys. Yes, they too can be quite smart sometimes (purposely? im not sure haha jkjk). Maybe not at lowering their car, but elsewhere. So give one a try.

I really liked the FR-Ses! Particularly the one with the orange Gram Lights. Mmmm. Also, on a scale of 1 to 10, what was the concentration of bro-dudes?

the bro dudes were not the majority. However, there really wasnt any majority. Also, does one consider hispanics to be bro dudes?

To answer your question. probably a 3. It was a good mix of people.

Of course youll have those dudes at any meet regardless.

I am not sure what I concider a bro dude. I have to see to judge the person without talking to them. . . if they dress like a bro dude but are cool, then they are cool. I haven't encountered many bro dudes, but I suspect there will be moer at the drifting events in Chicago. . . I have to go to one first.

Its an amazing event! You can drift yourself if you want, I would if I didn't suck. Plus, you aren't in stands you are at ground level! This should give you a good idea. . .

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Sadly, all my friends are about an hour away from me, so I mostly go to things alone. But they don't even like cars, so I don't have to hear them complain.

lol, in that case, you should totally try getting a girl to ride with you. Usually i wouldnt ask them since they usually never like cars, but its drifting.

And, i cant do that event. Preludes are fwd... I have to find another car before i even look into go to one haha.

Problem is. . . I haz no ladies. I am ladiless at the moment. But maybe with a louder exhaust, you never know.

Also, you can get a 240sx. They are cheap and RWD, and I think they look awesome!

Weve talked about exhaust and ladies... I think they like interior decoration over acoustics. So work on a proper extra leathery bright colored stictched cabin. Then they will want to be IN the car. Also, from the ladies ive talked to and asked if they like a full red interior vs a tan interior, tan wins every time. Which makes me sad....

Theres no ladies you work with that wanna tag along? Or in your class (im assuming your at college)?

Ive been looking for a few months now for any rwd car on a budget, but ive yet to find a solid one. I found a few good subbies, but i want rwd. not 4wd. And consequently, if i were to get that 2nd drift car, id use it as a winter beater to spare my prelude from death by salt. Plus RWD is best for snow driving anyways! haha.

I am in college, but I am a very serious fellow when I get in class, that and I am a very quiet person.

That is my fear with my car. I hate going though the snow with it. Last winter I didn't have to use it, so it never left the garage, but this one I will have to figure something out. I will probably take it home and leave it there, and use public transportation for everything rather than going to school.

Also remember what you can do with a 240sx, besides hoon in the snow(if it is anything like the rain, you will have sooo much fun!). Make it sexy as shit, also very very powerful.
